Heinz-Maurer-Award for Research in Dermatology
In 2007 again, for the seventh time in a row, Sebapharma GmbH & Co. KG, Boppard, Germany, is proud to invite applications for the Heinz Maurer-Award for Research in Dermatology, with allocated total funds in the amount of € 20,000, from researchers who have published outstanding research results in dermatology and related areas. Two awards, in the amount of € 10,000 each, will be distributed to the two major categories „Basic Research“ and „Clinical Research“. Scientific publications in either German or English language, published in recognized scientific journals, will be admitted. Such publications, related to the topic

Modulation of Skin Structure and Function
should have been accepted or published by the respective scientific journals between January 01, 2006 and December 31, 2007.
Each individual author or any group of authors may submit only one publication. A copy, a proof print or the manuscript of the submitted publication, in the latter case along with a confirmation of acceptance by the editors of the journal, should be sent to the following address no later than December 31, 2007:

The submitted publication must not have been submitted to other awards, nor should there be any plans to submit it otherwise. The submittant of the publication accepts that he/she has no rights towards remuneration for possibly resulting costs on his or her side, compensation for working time, nor towards the remittance of the submitted paper. The submittants give Sebapharma the right to publish their publication or excerpts of it, and also grant the right for use for other purposes at no extra cost, as long as no rights existing prior to that are infringed by such use. In case the publication is submitted by a group of authors, only the first author will receive the award. In such a case the written consent of the Co-authors is mandatory.
The decision, to whom the Heinz-Maurer-Award for Research in Dermatology is to be awarded, will be made by a jury consisting of members of the scientific advisory board of Sebapharma and a representative of the company. At this point in time, members of the jury are Prof. Dr. med. H. C. Korting – Munich (Chairman), Prof. Dr. med. W. Gehring – Karlsruhe, as well as Prof. Dr. med. O. Braun-Falco – Munich (Honorary Chairman), Prof. Dr. med. T. Ruzicka – Munich, Prof. Dr. med. V. Schumpelick – Aachen, Frau Prof. Dr. med. M. Kerscher – Hamburg, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. R. Daniels – Tübingen and Dr. rer. nat. M. Arens-Corell, Boppard. By majority decision of the jury the awards will be provided to authors of excellent publications in the two areas of „Basic Research“ and „Clinical Research“. In the event that equally valid publications should have been submitted, the award may be splitted. The jury’s decision is final, not contestable and it is executed with the exclusion of any rights and means for legal action against it.
